Absolute Strength Stylist

Born and raised in Michigan, Tara McCutchen now calls Salem, Oregon home. Her love for the beauty industry began at an early age, growing up alongside her mother, who spent 30 years as a cosmetology instructor and also owned her own salon. Tara graduated from Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy in February 2018 and has been specializing in wedding hairstyling for nearly a decade.

Tara thrives on creating soft, lived-in, natural hairstyles that feel romantic, effortless, and uniquely you. She loves being part of a bride’s wedding day and helping her feel confident, beautiful, and completely herself.

The Story Behind Absolute Strength

Absolute Strength is more than just a business name—it is a piece of Tara’s brother, Chas, that she carries with her every day.

Chas passed away from colon cancer at just 19 years old. Before his passing, he created the name Absolute Strength with hopes of one day building something of his own with it. Tara chose to carry that dream forward, making Absolute Strength both her brand and a reminder of the strength and legacy he left behind.

Outside of hairstyling, Tara is an avid runner and hiker who loves exploring the Pacific Northwest. She also shares a love of music with her husband, and together they perform as an acoustic duo. Whether she’s creating beautiful hair, chasing a new trail, or playing music with her favorite person, Tara loves finding beauty and connection in the little things.
